Kennington Park Community Centre (KPCC Oval) is a hidden gem next door to the world-famous Kia Oval Cricket Ground.

It is at the heart of Kennington Park Estate, and the local community benefits from having a space in which to enjoy a wide-range of social, cultural, economic and educational activities, many of which struggle to find space in this busy and crowded inner London area.

It has recently been designated an Asset of Community Value by Lambeth Council.

It comprises a large hall with a capacity of up to 100, two smaller meeting rooms, a kitchen and some outdoor space.

The Centre’s facilities are fully accessible. It has an entrance on the main road (Harleyford Street), and is close to Oval Tube Station (Northern Line), Cycle Superhighways 5 and 7, and a range of bus routes serving all parts of London including the West End, the City, Brixton, Clapham and Lewisham:

KPCC Oval is owned by Hyde Housing Association and is run by the Kennington Park Estate Tenants’ & Residents’ Association (KPETRA) in partnership with Hyde. This new initiative is the result of a successful campaign by the local community to prevent Hyde closing and demolishing the Centre. The initial agreement for this new management arrangement is for a 12-month period from July 2017 to July 2018.

KPETRA aims to turn the Centre into a viable and thriving local resource so that its future can be guaranteed.  To do this we will balance the financial needs of the Centre with the aspiration to ensure it has a sustainable future and continues to support local residents and community groups.  We are currently looking to increase usage and develop connections with local enterprises who require event and meeting space.
