Kennington Park Community Centre Community Benefit Society

The Kennington Park Community Centre Community Benefit Society, which registered with the Financial Conduct Authority as a charity in 2018, was set up to run the Centre on OUR behalf. We have a Lease with Hyde which means that we are responsible for bookings and the day-to-day running of the Centre, while Hyde as our landlord continues to be responsible for major repairs and maintenance.

We are currently working with Hyde to carry out major improvements to the Centre, which will include refurbishing and extending the current building to improve the quality of the facilities and to make the building more energy efficient; replacing 8a Harleyford Street with a new community space, a community cafe and eight apartments for social rent; and an improved central garden.

Despite rumours and misinformation, the Centre is NOT being demolished!

Come and get involved! If you would like to become a member of the CBS, please email us a completed copy of the application form.

We hold an Annual General Meeting where, as a member, you elect the Board of Trustees and can stand to become a Trustee yourself. Our current Board comprises a mixture of Kennington Park Estate residents (both tenants and leaseholders), key regular user group leaders, one of our local councillors and several local supporters, bringing a range of skills and experiences to the important business of running the Centre.

Board members can be contacted by email at kpccoval@gmail.com.
